The history of the Tyumen circus began in the XIX century, when in 1839 street gymnasts began to perform in the city. At the end of XIX century. Performances were held in tents, and in 1897 the first room for circus performances appeared, and in it furnaces were installed, and it could be performed in winter. Prices for tickets to it were available to ordinary citizens. On 13th of August 1898, the troupe from the circus Antonova came on tour, and in 1900 – the outstanding circus performer, clown-satirist and trainer Anatoly Durov. In the early XX century. Year-round circus gave way to a new, summer, built on the means of partnership E. Strakai. In it, the first performance took place on June 23, 1903. In June 1906 the circus changes owner – passes to VT Sobolevsky and begins to be named in his honor. Then the owner of the circus is a certain Kostousov.
