In 2014 the Tver circus celebrated its 90th anniversary. All these years the circus remains one of the most favorite institutions of local residents. His story was quite diverse, several times the circus burned, but the cossacks with new forces were rebuilding and building new buildings, if only the circus would live. In the late XIX – early XX century, the city did not have permanent buildings that would be used for circus performances, performances of visiting artists were held in temporary buildings and circus tent. At one time the brothers Nikitin had a tent in Tver. But the birthday of the Tver circus is considered to be November 14, 1924, on this day the first performance took place on the arena of the new wooden stationary circus building. This room was heated, which allowed to hold events here throughout the year. The hall could hold 1874 spectators, as it was one of the most capacious rooms of Tver, except for circus shows there were other festivals, matinees, city meetings.
