Samara State Circus

At the end of 19 circus performances in Samara were given by visiting troupes in their own tents. In 1907 local merchants brothers Kalinin built a major circus theater “Olympia”, which rented circus and theater, entrepreneurs. Since 1919 the circus of the Ferroni brothers worked in the city in a specially built building. In 1921 this circus was nationalized. In 1928, in the “Olympus” gave a presentation of the circus team under the leadership of N. Nikitin (circus “Colossus”). In 1928 a wooden circus building was built, which existed until 1934. In 1936 the performances were resumed in the Strukovsky Park in a new circus tent.
