Irkutsk became the first city in Siberia and the Far East, in which a stone circus appeared. During its existence, more than 200 circus programs have been worked out, which means that artists from different countries and cities of Russia have produced more than 10 thousand performances. According to rough estimates, for all years of existence in the circus was visited by 5 million spectators. The Irkutskians saw for the first time what could be called a circus performance in 1795 – then a certain Mikolleto came to the city with his troupe. His ideas did not have the necessary skills, and the productions were simple, but the townspeople, who first saw acrobats and trained animals, called the artist a magician.
