Ekaterinburg State Circus is located in a picturesque place of the city of Yekaterinburg – on the bank of the Iset River, at the intersection of Kuibyshev streets – on March 8. Opened on February 1, 1980. By its construction, the building is considered one of the best in Europe and is adapted for the most complex productions, and its interior is decorated with a Ural stone. In the circus there are 2,371 seats, two arenas (main and rehearsal). More than 20 million spectators visited the circus during its existence. The circus bears the name of our fellow countryman, People’s Artist of the USSR, talented trainer Valentin Ivanovich Filatov. Since January 1994, the People’s Artist of Russia Anatoly Pavlovich Marchevsky has been appointed director of the circus.
