The circus was build by Ernst Jacob Renz as part of his circus imperium which had several buildings around Germany.
After the death of Renz his children started selling off buildings. Just as the Hamburg building the Breslau building also became a part of the Circus Busch which at its height owned buildings in Hamburg, Berlin, Vienna and Breslau.
After WWII German Breslau became the Polish Wrocław. In 1949 members of the Soviet State Circus helped to clear the rubble from the ruins of the building, but unfortunately it was never rebuild. Flats were put in its place.
