The first Circus Busch building in Hamburg was build for Circus Busch itself. When Paul Busch had the opportunity to buy the, bigger, circus building of his competitor Circus Renz he did. He converted his own building into a theatre, probably to make sure he wouldn’t get a competitor circus in Hamburg, and sold it. During WWII the building which was now known as the Schiller-Oper survived, making it the only pre-war circus building still standing in Germany.
Unfortunately the derelict building is in ruins.
