At the very beginning of the war the old building of the circus was burnt down and the remained artists and animals were evacuated to Moscow and then to Omsk, where already on the 7th November 1941 the Belarusian circus gave the first performance to the military men, who were leaving for the front. In 1946 the director of the circus Boris Kabischer, came back to Minsk from Siberia and reconstructed the circus on its former place in the Gorky park. It was a circus tent with 1200 sitting places, a gift to Minsk from Orel Town.
